Tawan opens in the President Hotel
April 6th, 2007

The President Hotel announces today the opening of a TAWAN Thai massage centre, the second and largest of its kind in Prague. Its five rooms offer a variety of treatments whilst the tea lounge provides guests with a special space for relaxation. Opened on April 6th,  the centre forms part of the President Hotel’s spa. In addition to the fitness room, sauna and Jacuzzi, the spa will also now offer a wide range of traditional Thai massages, including classic Thai massage, aroma oil massage, foot and face massage, as well as special treatments, such as detox and  slimming massages.

Traditional Thai massage has been practised in almost original form for over 2,000 years. A combination of traditional Chinese medicine and ancient Indian Ayurveda, it is based on the healing theory of energy lines called SEN, which give life energy. Traditional Thai massage helps to alleviate pain as well as relieve stress and its related disorders. It soothes the nervous system, calms the mind and stimulates a feeling of harmony.

“We chose the name TAWAN because it means ‘sun’. Like the sun, Thai massages fill your body with energy and bring you a feeling of well-being,” explains Mrs. Jiřina Forejtková, the owner of the TAWAN centres. Mrs. Lenka Žlebková, director of sales and marketing at the President Hotel, adds: “We want our guests to feel as comfortable as possible when staying at our hotel, which is why we decided to expand the hotel spa by opening the Thai massage centre. The TAWAN centre is open daily both to hotel guests and the public, and I believe both will take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the first-class treatment provided by the professional Thai masseurs.“
