Vltava Restaurant obtains the „Czech Specials certificate“
April 20th, 2010
The President Hotel’s Vltava Restaurant has been included in the project „Czech Specials“ and has proven the high quality of its traditional Czech dishes. The project „Czech Specials“ is a joint project of the Czech Tourism agency, the Association of Hotels and Restaurants and the Association of Master Chefs and Confectioners, and the aim is to present potential tourist destinations in an attractive light and to promote the Czech regions through their various culinary specialties.
In order to succeed in the project, the Vltava Restaurant had to meet a number of different criteria including the quality of food, professional approach and service in the restaurant. It also needed to feature at least one nationwide special and one regional dish. Czech food lovers, as well as those who have only recently discovered Czech cuisine, can enjoy roasted slices of beef fillet with traditional vegetable cream sauce, cranberries and Viennese dumplings, or goulash made from beef sirloin in Prague butcher’s style with ham, bacon, sausages and Viennese style onions.
The organizers of the project appointed a committee of gastronomic experts, whose role was to randomly visit all of the restaurants involved and assess the achievement of the necessary criteria. The experts were very satisfied with the quality of food and service as well as with the overall processes in the Vltava Restaurant. Particularly appreciated was the excellent taste of the traditional Czech food, one judge even saying that he considered the Vltava Restaurant as the best of all the 30 restaurants visited and evaluated so far in this project.
Talking about the award, Guillermo Olivares, General Manager of the President Hotel, said: „We are very pleased with the certificate „Czech Specials“ as we consider it yet further confirmation of the excellent level of food and service we provide in our restaurant.“
